Donald Yamami

Don Yamami graduated with honors from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 1979 and has over 30 years of experience in a variety of project types. For the past 20 years Don has focused on complex institutional projects that include research, healthcare, university and embassy projects. As Project Architect, his responsibilities include planning, design management, and quality assurance. He has managed projects from the earliest programming and planning phases through design and construction.

Nozomu Sugawara

Nozomu Sugawara came to the United States from his native Japan to study at the University of Houston, where he received a Bachelor of Architecture, cum laude from the Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture. While working for Houston-based firms on various civic and cultural projects, as well as conceptual projects and competitions, he continued his international studies with programs at the Applied Arts University in Vienna with Wolf Prix (Coophimelblau) and at the Center for the Study of Architecture and Urbanism in Saintes, France.

Rebecca Bubenas

Rebecca Bubenas is a senior marketing professional for Moore Ruble Yudell. Since joining the firm in 2001, she has been involved with all levels of marketing and media relations, and has lent editorial and graphics expertise to diverse projects from competitions to private residences.

Bernardo Frias

Bernardo Frias received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.  His education prepared him to design spaces that respond to community needs while incorporating building systems that produce sustainable and ecologically responsible buildings.  Bernardo’s interest in sustainability influenced his decision to become a LEED™ Accredited Professional in 2004.  His technical skills, combined with his sensitivity to design and sustainability, have made Bernardo successful in his participation on a variety of projects both nationally and in

Kaoru Orime

Kaoru Orime has worked with Moore Ruble Yudell as both an architectural designer and an expert in the field of colors and materials since 2000. Her design experience covers a wide range of regional and global projects, from single-family residences, to cultural/civic work, to large scale town and campus planning. During the design process, Kaoru strives to understand the inherent complexity, challenges and opportunities within each project. Her work respects not only program and budget, but also the importance of place.

Stephanie Valdivia-Grand

Stephanie Valdivia-Grand is responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of the Santa Monica office.  Stephanie has more than 20 years of professional experience in architecture and design firm administration. She is responsible for providing leadership supervision of the administrative staff and works closely with the company partners and principals to meet their staffing and organizational needs, with an emphasis on travel and scheduling. Stephanie is a licensed Notary Public in the State of California.

Linda Smith

Linda Smith has been with Moore Ruble Yudell since 2003. As Controller, she is responsible for the day-to-day functions of accounts payable and receivable, invoicing and supplier management, financial statements, annual budgets, and payroll. As Facility Security Officer, Linda is directly responsible for planning, developing and implementing all security and logistics policies and procedures for the Santa Monica office as a secured facility in compliance with the State Department requirements. Linda is a member of NCMS, the Society of Industrial Security Professionals.
