Maguire Aviation

Maguire Aviation
Van Nuys
California

Moore Ruble Yudell was asked to renovate an existing office building and passenger area for Maguire Aviation, a private airline company based at the Van Nuys Airport in California.  Since this was the location for the final scene in the classic film, Casablanca, the designers took inspiration from that film as a conceptual starting point for the development of the renovation. The first floor is largely devoted to the passenger check-in and arrival, with the second floor containing the office space for the aviation company’s employees.  The scope consists of new space planning and reconfiguration of interior architecture and all new furniture for both public and office spaces in the building.

New millwork pieces were installed and new finishes were selected, including cork tile in the lobby, carpet tile, ceiling tile and accent paint colors throughout the office spaces. The use of perforated aluminum and a resin countertop with embedded recycled metal reference prominent airline industry materials.
